This part of my web site is dedicated to some of the many people who have influenced and helped me at various times during my adult life. I have been very fortunate to be surrounded by a caring family and a good many friends. These people have played a pivotal role in my life by giving me love and support, guidance, criticism, friendship, opportunity, and advice. Some have changed my life by providing a new opportunity. In some odd way, I often compare my life to a lump of clay on a potter’s wheel and always changing in often unexpected ways. As a professor of photography, my career seems to be a product of many seemingly disconnected things and has absolutely been influenced by the following people beginning in 1973 when I discovered photography. Many aspects of my life are true examples of serendipity. I am sure everyone can identify times in their life and people who have enriched their lives in obvious and not so obvious ways. For certain, my career has been directed and re-directed at a number of times by these important individuals when they shared often "not-planned" opportunities to me. During my life I have tried to pick the path while at other times the path has picked me. The following pages have been produced as a small tribute to those people who have helped me arrive at today. These individuals cared about me when I needed to be cared about. They offered guidance when I was confused, or they gave me a new and unexpected path to follow. I can say with 100% certainty, I would not be where I am today without them.
